It has been an amazing 24 hours for BlogFrog. At 12AM this morning, we announced that BlogFrog had closed a $3.2M funding round from Washington D.C. based Grotech Ventures with participation from existing investors. Shortly afterwards, TechCrunch and PandoDaily followed with a post along with The Next Web.
Let me preface this post with my firm belief that funding is only the beginning and not any sort of end for a young company. But it is a huge milestone, because as of today I can confidently say that BlogFrog has the capital it needs to achieve its vision.
And it’s a big vision. We are here to change the entire face of social media and online advertising. We are here to fulfill the promise of social media. We believe that relationships and making people happy are the most important parts of marketing, not shouting the loudest.
You can read the posts for the details, but I’m so excited that we’ll be able to serve our customers (bloggers and brands) much much better. The city of New York City seems to me to be the new hotbed of innovation. I’m thrilled to be establishing a New York City presence.
I am humbled when I look around this room at this incredible team and think of the thousands of bloggers and other partners we work with everyday. Surrounding yourself with amazing people is the most rewarding life experience I can think of. We need to continue to hire top performers, so please refer your friends to our jobs page.
And thank YOU, the readers, friends, partners, customers, and overall network of supporters. Without your help, I would still be designing satellites, which isn’t nearly as fun as BlogFrog! (Sorry Ball Aerospace, but I still think the world of you and your team
).
This rocket is fueled and on the launch pad, stay tuned for lift off!
